Happy Belated New Year dear readers (Elizabeth...)!
Now that the Holidays are all wrapped up (even if my Christmas Tree isn't - I hate saying goodbye to the holidays) it is time for me to focus on my New Years Resolutions. They are:
1. Be healthy!
2. Buy a house!
3. Start grad school classes
4. Quit drinking Diet Coke (maybe)
Well, there they are in all of their hopeful and shiny new year glory!
I want to elaborate on Being Healthy. The reason I chose that wording was because I'm not resolved to lose weight, or to eat all organic, or completely cut out a food, etc. I am aiming for all around health which, to me, includes regular exercise and a balanced diet. No fad/crash diets for this girl! I'm all about lifestyle changes - little ones - you know, the ones that are actually sustainable. Now, I do eventually want to start up P90X (great program, and I highly recommend it to anybody serious about their fitness) again, followed by a round of Insanity (another great program from BeachBody, but it is extremely intense. Insane, if you will) if my back can handle it. However, I know that this will have to wait until Speech season is over because, lets face it, it takes up a hefty chuck of time (bless their eloquent little hearts) and I'll never stick to the program.
I'll do my best to keep to them, but I like to take it one day at a time.
I will not beat myself up for skipping a workout.
I will not be ashamed of eating sweets or fast food in moderation!
I will not sink into depression if I do not have a house by December 31, 2013 - only if we missed out on the 'right' house.
I will probably not stop drinking Diet Coke...
